City of Houston Network
Implementation Project
The City of Houston awarded a three year, multi-million dollar
project to DYONYX to upgrade the City's Cisco network
infrastructure, routers, switches, firewall configurations and
Ethernet and CAT 5 cabling standard. This project, according to
Cisco, is the single largest infrastructure undertaking at the City
in the past five years, and the basis of supporting important
application upgrades for the next 10 years, including the City's
planned VoIP and ERP projects. DYONYX was selected out of a list of
the largest IT integrators in the country including IBM Global
Services, SBC, Unisys, Getronics among others, as a result of our
demonstrated Cisco, security configuration, federal law enforcement
standards, LAN/WAN support experience and sterling reputation
serving similar local, state and federal customer requirements. The
DYONYX Project Management Office successfully completed Phase I of
the three phase project, on time, under budget and with no
unscheduled down time. Phase II and III include: network
recertification, site readiness, hardware deployment, testing and
training for the remaining 1,400 devices and 500+ city sites.
City of Houston Police
Department Network Security Pre-Convergence
Implementation
DYONYX was awarded the Network Security Pre-Implementation
Convergence Implementation (NSPCI) project by the Houston Police
Department. This important project includes integrating the HPD
primarily Novell network into the City of Houston's primarily
Microsoft environment, while maintaining strict and secure
communication standards and regulatory requirements. This
encompassing secure convergence project includes testing and
implementing point solutions from Novell, NetIQ, Blue Lance, Cisco
and Unisys to converge mainframe to server to desktop security
integration as well as unique regulatory requirements (TCIC/NCIC),
documentation and training. DYONYX performed the strategic design
work for HPD; and, this work with HPD truly represents the kind of
end-to-end solution that DYONYX is well known for.
City of Houston Health and
Human Services Department Risk Management Assessment
DYONYX has helped CoH DHHS assess their administrative policy,
technical controls and physical safeguards via a comprehensive risk
management assessment for the Health Department's main campus
facility. This comprehensive assessment required HIPAA regulatory
compliance as well as sensitive but unclassified (SBU) elements to
insure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of critical
patient data is maintained throughout mission critical systems
including Microsoft Windows Active Directory, Cisco based
infrastructure and web based Oracle applications. These important
projects culminate with a deliverable presentation to the HDHHS
Board and knowledge transfer of specific recommendations to HDHHS
IT personnel and partners.
Award Winning Customer
Service
DYONYX was nominated by City of Houston Chief Information Officer,
Richard Lewis, to participate in the exclusive Executive CIO
